If It Was Easy
You’re made to do hard things.
At some point, most people start wondering if it should be easier than this.
Getting healthy.
Losing the weight.
Starting the business.
Changing careers.
Saving the marriage.
Finding your footing after a setback.
The truth?
It’s hard because it matters.
I turned 59 this year and I’m learning a brand new profession.
Some days I feel confident.
Some days I feel like the new guy all over again.
But I’ve learned something over the years.
The hard part isn’t the problem.
The hard part is the path.
Strength is built there.
Confidence is built there.
Character is built there.
If it was easy, everyone would do it.
The reason the finish line feels so rewarding isn’t because you reached it.
It’s because of who you had to become along the way.
So if what you’re working toward feels difficult right now, don’t assume you’re failing.
You might just be growing.
Keep going.
The life you want is usually on the other side of the things most people quit doing.
